Ice Diving

February 18 and 19.

We will be going to NH for a weekend of Ice Diving. Please contact the shop and talk to Tom about this exciting Specialty. We need to have at least 4 people to go.

Another diving season is coming to an end.  Thanks to our many friends, Maine Divers Scuba Center had a busy summer both in and more importantly, out of the shop.  The staff participated in more than 100 dives in and around Maine and we completed about 50 certifications.  So what else is new?
Tom Jones is off to Florida to complete the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) and Instructor Evaluation (IE).  George retuned from a wreck dive trip to Pensacola Florida, including the aircraft carrier USS ORISKANY.  He will be going back to Florida and Bonaire diving before joining up with Tom at the DEMA tradeshow in Orlando.  Roger spent a couple of weeks diving in Hawaii, and Jim completed the EMT course.  This dive business stuff is tough. FYI, Luis has a dive trip to Cozumel in early November.  If you are interested, call/email us.
This winter we plan to reorganize the store and get another boat.  We want to focus on taking you diving. There is some good diving off shore with plenty of places to explore.  We are always looking for the "secert" treasure locations.

A reminder to get your gear cleaned before you put it away for the winter.  A soak in warm fresh water is usually enough, and don't forget to soak your tank valves too.  We have had a few broken-corroded valves this year (the parts inside the knob).  If you have older gear and want to preserve it, we recommend a McNett UV protector for the rubber/plastic/nylon parts, and it makes your gear look nice too.  If you need a regulator service, do it in the fall before you store it for the winter and corrosion damage is done.
All the best,
Maine Divers Staff
